This Privacy Policy explains how NeuroTrocity ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the DisPoint iPhone app ("DisPoint", "the app"). NeuroTrocity is an independent app developer based in Australia. If you have any questions, email dispoint@neurotrocity.com.
DisPoint is a personal library for discount codes and loyalty/frequent-flyer "points deals" you find yourself. You capture them — often from a screenshot — and DisPoint reminds you before they expire and helps you estimate what a points deal is worth. It also shows a small, curated catalogue of publicly available Australian promotions.
Everything you create in DisPoint — discount codes, points deals, goals, notes, and any screenshots you attach — is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device database. If you have iCloud enabled, this data also syncs through your own private iCloud (CloudKit) account so it's available on your other Apple devices.
This data is controlled by you and your Apple ID. We do not have access to it, it is not sent to our servers (we don't operate one for your personal data), and we never sell it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
When you capture a deal from a screenshot, DisPoint reads the text using Apple's on-device Vision framework. This processing happens on your phone. Your screenshots and the text within them are not uploaded to us or to any third party for this purpose.
DisPoint never connects to, logs in to, or scrapes any loyalty or frequent-flyer program (such as Qantas Frequent Flyer, Velocity, Flybuys or Everyday Rewards), and never asks for or stores your loyalty-account passwords. Any points figures shown in the app are your own estimates based on information you enter. This is a permanent design boundary.
The free version of DisPoint displays ads supplied by Google AdMob, a Google service. We show a banner on the Home screen and, only if you choose to tap it, an optional rewarded ad.
We use non-personalised ads only. That means ads are based on general, non-identifying context rather than a profile of you built across apps and websites. DisPoint does not present Apple's App Tracking Transparency ("Allow Tracking") prompt and does not use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to track you across other companies' apps and sites.
To serve, cap the frequency of, measure, and protect ads against fraud, Google may still process limited technical data such as your device's IP address, general (approximate) location derived from it, device type and settings, and your interactions with an ad. Google may also use Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork to measure whether an ad led to an app install, without identifying you.
How Google collects and uses data in its advertising products is described here:
You can remove ads entirely by purchasing DisPoint Pro. You can also reset or limit your device advertising identifier at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and → Apple Advertising.
DisPoint offers a one-time in-app purchase, "DisPoint Pro", handled entirely by Apple's App Store / StoreKit. Apple processes your payment; we never receive your card number or payment details. We can see anonymous, aggregate sales information through Apple, but not information that identifies you personally. Apple's handling of purchases is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
DisPoint is a general-audience shopping utility intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. Ads served in DisPoint are configured for a general audience. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will address it.
Because your DisPoint content stays on your device and in your own iCloud, you are in direct control of it: you can view, edit, export (Pro), or delete any item in the app, and deleting the app removes its on-device data. To remove synced data, delete it in the app or manage it via your iCloud settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (and the Australian Privacy Principles), the EU/UK GDPR, or the California Consumer Privacy Act — including rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, and to object to certain processing. As we hold almost no personal information about you ourselves, most of these rights are exercised directly on your device or with the third parties named above (Apple and Google). For any request or question, contact dispoint@neurotrocity.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
The third-party services DisPoint relies on — Apple and Google — are global providers that may process data (such as the ad-serving data described in Section 5) on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. Their own privacy policies, linked above, govern those transfers.
Your DisPoint data is protected by the security of your device and your Apple ID, including device passcode/Face ID and Apple's iCloud encryption. Because we don't hold your personal library on our own servers, there is no central database of your deals for anyone to breach.
We may update this policy as the app evolves or as legal requirements change. When we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, note it in the app. Continued use of DisPoint after an update means you accept the revised policy.
