The beep test sucks. It has demonic powers stronger than Final Destination. There’s only one way to beat it before it beats you… cheat the beep.
Most beep test apps play you a beep and leave you to guess the rest. This one tells you where you should be.
Pacing cues
Hear where you should be, three times a shuttle
Three short cues sound at 70%, 80% and 90% of every shuttle, so you can hear whether you are ahead or behind before the beep arrives — not after. It is the difference between learning the pace and chasing it.
The app
What you’ll be looking at
Apple Watch
Run from your wrist.
Run from your wrist with haptics for every cue and beep. Leave the phone on the sideline.
Before you start
It is designed to beat you.
The beep test is a maximal fitness test: it is designed to be run until you cannot keep up.
It is demanding. Consult a doctor before undertaking strenuous exercise, particularly if you have a heart or respiratory condition, an injury or have not exercised recently. Warm up first, run on a flat non-slip surface, and stop immediately if you feel dizzy, faint, unwell or in pain.
This app is a training aid. It is not medical advice, it does not assess your fitness to take part, and it is not a substitute for the official assessment conducted by a recruiting agency.
The first hit is always free…
…that’s how you end up addicted for life.
Your first test is free. No account, no sign-up — nothing leaves your phone.
